and the rulers take counsel together,

²The kings^(A) of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed,^(B) saying,

²⁰Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered, ^(A)“The Christ of God.”

²⁰“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

Peter answered, “God’s Messiah.”^(A)
