¹ Vindicate me, my God,
    and plead my cause^(A)
    against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me^(B) from those who are
    deceitful and wicked.^(C)

    preserve my life^(C) according to your promise.^(D)

⁹ Because I have sinned against him,
    I will bear the Lord’s wrath,^(A)
