Psalm 35:19

Good News Translation

¹⁹^(A)Don't let my enemies, those liars,
gloat over my defeat.
Don't let those who hate me for no reason
smirk with delight over my sorrow.

Psalm 35:19

New International Version

¹⁹Do not let those gloat over me
who are my enemies^(A) without cause;
do not let those who hate me without reason^(B)
maliciously wink the eye.^(C)

²⁵^(A)This, however, was bound to happen so that what is written in their Law may come true: ‘They hated me for no reason at all.’

²⁵But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law:^(A) ‘They hated me without reason.’^[a]^(B)
