    who seek after my life!
Let them be ^(C)turned back and disappointed
    who devise evil against me!
⁵ Let them be like ^(D)chaff before the wind,
    with the angel of the Lord driving them away!
⁶ Let their way be dark and ^(E)slippery,
    with the angel of the Lord pursuing them!

⁷ For ^(F)without cause ^(G)they hid their net for me;
    without cause they dug ^(H)a pit for my life.^[a]
8 Let ^(I)destruction come upon him ^(J)when he does not know it!
And let the net that he hid ensnare him;
    let him fall into it—to his destruction!

^22 (A)Let their own ^(B)table before them become a snare;
    ^(C)and when they are at peace, let it become a trap.^[a]
23 (D)Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see,
    ^(E)and make their loins tremble continually.
²⁴ Pour out your indignation upon them,
    and let your burning anger overtake them.
^25 (F)May their camp be a desolation;
    let no one dwell in their tents.
²⁶ For they ^(G)persecute him whom ^(H)you have struck down,
    and they recount the pain of ^(I)those you have wounded.
^27 (J)Add to them punishment upon punishment;
    may they have no acquittal from you.^[b]
28 Let them be ^(K)blotted out of the book of the living;
    let them not be ^(L)enrolled among the righteous.
