Psalm 51:16-18
New Life Version

16 For You are not happy with a gift given on the altar in worship, or I would give it. You are not pleased with burnt gifts. 17 The gifts on an altar that God wants are a broken spirit. O God, You will not hate a broken heart and a heart with no pride.

18 Be pleased to do good to Zion. Build the walls of Jerusalem.

16 You do not delight in sacrifice,(A) or I would bring it;
    you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 My sacrifice,(B) O God, is[a] a broken spirit;
    a broken and contrite heart(C)
    you, God, will not despise.

18 May it please you to prosper Zion,(D)
    to build up the walls of Jerusalem.(E)
