3 For strangers have (A)risen against me

4 Behold, (E)God is my helper;

3 Arrogant foes are attacking me;(A)
    ruthless people(B) are trying to kill me(C)—
    people without regard for God.[a](D)

4 Surely God is my help;(E)

5 Let evil recoil(G) on those who slander me;
    in your faithfulness(H) destroy them.
