^(C)Not for my transgression nor for my sin, O Lord,

² Hide me from the ^(A)secret counsel of evildoers,
From the tumult of ^(B)those who do iniquity,
³ Who ^(C)have sharpened their tongue like a sword.
They ^(D)aimed bitter speech as their arrow,
⁴ To ^(E)shoot ^[a]from concealment at the blameless;
Suddenly they shoot at him, and ^(F)do not fear.
⁵ They ^[b]hold fast to themselves an evil purpose;
They ^[c]talk of ^(G)laying snares secretly;
They say, “^(H)Who can see them?”
⁶ They ^[d]devise injustices, saying,
“We are ^[e]ready with a well-conceived plot”;
For the ^[f](I)inward thought and the heart of a man are ^[g]deep.

83 O God, ^(A)do not remain quiet;
^(B)Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.
² For behold, Your enemies ^(C)make an uproar,
And ^(D)those who hate You have ^[a](E)exalted themselves.
³ They ^(F)make shrewd plans against Your people,
And ^[b]conspire together against ^(G)Your ^[c]treasured ones.
