Psalm 72:4-6

4 May he stand by those who are poor, save the children of those in need, and destroy the bad power over them.

5 May all the children-to-come fear You as long as the sun and the moon last. 6 May He come down like rain upon the cut grass, like rain that waters the earth.

4 May he defend the afflicted(A) among the people
    and save the children of the needy;(B)
    may he crush the oppressor.(C)
5 May he endure[a](D) as long as the sun,
    as long as the moon, through all generations.(E)
6 May he be like rain(F) falling on a mown field,
    like showers watering the earth.
