⁵They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not ^(A)stricken like the rest of mankind.

⁵They are free^(A) from common human burdens;
they are not plagued by human ills.

⁴^(A)Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
^(B)smitten by God, and afflicted.

⁴Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,^(A)
yet we considered him punished by God,^(B)
stricken by him, and afflicted.^(C)
