A ^(B)stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that ^(C)did not ^[a]prepare its heart
And whose spirit was not ^(D)faithful to God.

^6 (A)We have sinned ^(B)with our fathers,
We have committed iniquity, we have acted wickedly.
⁷ Our fathers in Egypt did not consider Your wondrous deeds;
They ^(C)did not remember Your abundant lovingkindnesses,
But they ^(D)rebelled by the sea, at the ^[a]Red Sea.
