6 He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not.
7 He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets.

5 You have fed them with the bread of tears;(A)
you have made them drink tears by the bowlful.(B)
6 You have made us an object of derision[a] to our neighbors,
and our enemies mock us.(C)
7 Restore us, God Almighty;
make your face shine on us,
that we may be saved.(D)
