⁶ You have put me in ^(A)the lowest pit,
In ^(B)dark places, in the ^(C)depths.

² “Though they dig into ^(A)Sheol,
From there will My hand take them;
And though they ^(B)ascend to heaven,
From there will I bring them down.

“I ^(A)called out of my distress to the Lord,
And He answered me.
I cried for help from the ^[a]depth of ^(B)Sheol;
You heard my voice.

⁶ “I ^(A)descended to the roots of the mountains.
The earth with its ^(B)bars was around me forever,
But You have ^(C)brought up my life from ^[a]the pit, O Lord my God.
