    to the ruler of the land,
from Sela,^(C) across the desert,
    to the mount of Daughter Zion.^(D)

²³ They are armed with bow and spear;
    they are cruel and show no mercy.^(A)
They sound like the roaring sea^(B)
    as they ride on their horses;^(C)
they come like men in battle formation
    to attack you, Daughter Zion.^(D)”
