^45 (A)And for their sake He remembered His covenant,
And ^(B)relented ^(C)according to the multitude of His mercies.

²⁰ Is Ephraim My dear son?
Is he a pleasant child?
For though I spoke against him,
I earnestly remember him still;
^(A)Therefore My ^[a]heart yearns for him;
^(B)I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord.
