¹² Behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests ^(A)with their battle trumpets to sound the call to battle against you. O sons of Israel, ^(B)do not fight against the Lord, the God of your fathers, for you cannot succeed.”

^17 (A)You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ ^(B)Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, ^(C)and the Lord will be with you.”

⁹ Only ^(A)do not rebel against the Lord. And ^(B)do not fear the people of the land, for ^(C)they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.”
