His ^(D)axe into a ^[b]forest of trees.
⁶ And now they break down ^[c]all its ^(E)carved work
With axe and hammers.
⁷ They have ^[d](F)burned Your sanctuary ^[e]to the ground;
They have ^(G)defiled the dwelling place of Your name.
⁸ They ^(H)said in their heart, “Let’s ^[f]completely ^[g]subdue them.”
They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
