³⁶ But they ^(A)flattered him with their mouths;
    they ^(B)lied to him with their tongues.
³⁷ Their ^(C)heart was not ^(D)steadfast towards him;
    they were not faithful to his covenant.

¹³ And the Lord said:
“Because ^(A)this people ^(B)draw near with their mouth
    and honour me with their lips,
    while their hearts are far from me,
and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,

² You plant them, and they take root;
    they grow and produce fruit;
^(A)you are near in their mouth
    and far from their heart.
