¹⁴ I would quickly subdue their enemies
and turn My hand against their foes.”^(A)

²⁵ Therefore the Lord’s anger burns^(A) against His people.
He raised His hand against them and struck them;
the mountains quaked,^(B)
and their corpses were like garbage in the streets.
In all this, His anger is not removed,
and His hand is still raised to strike.^(C)

⁸ I will cut off the ruler from Ashdod,^(A)
and the one who wields the scepter from Ashkelon.^(B)
I will also turn My hand against Ekron,
and the remainder of the Philistines^(C) will perish.
The Lord God has spoken.
