62 Veisuunjohtajalle; Jedutunin tapaan; Daavidin virsi.

2 Jumalaa yksin minun sieluni hiljaisuudessa odottaa, häneltä tulee minulle apu.

3 Hän yksin on minun kallioni, minun apuni ja turvani: en minä suuresti horju.

4 Kuinka kauan te yhtä miestä ahdistatte, hänet yhdessä surmataksenne, niinkuin hän olisi kaatuva seinä, niinkuin murrettu muuri?

5 He vain pitävät neuvoa, miten syöstä hänet korkeudestaan. He rakastavat valhetta, he siunaavat suullansa ja kiroavat sydämessänsä. Sela.

6 Odota yksin Jumalaa hiljaisuudessa, minun sieluni, sillä häneltä tulee minun toivoni.

7 Hän yksin on minun kallioni, minun apuni ja turvani: en minä horju.

8 Jumalassa on minun apuni ja kunniani. Minun väkevyyteni kallio, minun turvani on Jumala.

9 Turvatkaa häneen joka aika, te kansa; vuodattakaa hänen eteensä sydämenne. Jumala on meidän turvamme. Sela.

10 Vain tuulen henkäystä ovat ihmiset, vain valhetta ihmisten lapset: kaikki he nousevat vaa'assa ylös köykäisempinä kuin tuulenhenkäys.

11 Älkää luottako väkivaltaan, älkää turhaan panko toivoanne ryöstettyyn tavaraan. Jos rikkautta karttuu, älkää siihen sydäntänne kiinnittäkö.

12 Kerran on Jumala sanonut, kahdesti olen sen kuullut: väkevyys on Jumalan.

13 Ja sinun, Herra, on armo; sillä sinä maksat kullekin hänen tekojensa mukaan.

Psalm 62[a]

For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

1 Truly my soul finds rest(A) in God;(B)
    my salvation comes from him.
2 Truly he is my rock(C) and my salvation;(D)
    he is my fortress,(E) I will never be shaken.(F)

3 How long will you assault me?
    Would all of you throw me down—
    this leaning wall,(G) this tottering fence?
4 Surely they intend to topple me
    from my lofty place;
    they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
    but in their hearts they curse.[b](H)

5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;(I)
    my hope comes from him.
6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
    he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God[c];
    he is my mighty rock, my refuge.(J)
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;(K)
    pour out your hearts to him,(L)
    for God is our refuge.

9 Surely the lowborn(M) are but a breath,(N)
    the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance,(O) they are nothing;
    together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion(P)
    or put vain hope in stolen goods;(Q)
though your riches increase,
    do not set your heart on them.(R)

11 One thing God has spoken,
    two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,(S)
12     and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;(T)
and, “You reward everyone
    according to what they have done.”(U)
