^4 (I)One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:
That I may ^(J)dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
To behold ^(K)the ^[c]beauty of the Lord
And to ^[d](L)meditate in His temple.
⁵ For in the ^(M)day of trouble He will ^(N)conceal me in His ^[e]tabernacle;
In the secret place of His tent He will ^(O)hide me;
He will ^(P)lift me up on a rock.
⁶ And now ^(Q)my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent ^(R)sacrifices ^[f]with shouts of joy;
I will ^(S)sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

^7 (T)Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice,
And be gracious to me and ^(U)answer me.
⁸ When You said, “^(V)Seek My face,” my heart said to You,
“Your face, O Lord, ^(W)I shall seek.”
^9 (X)Do not hide Your face from me,
Do not turn Your servant away in ^(Y)anger;
You have been ^(Z)my help;
^(AA)Do not abandon me nor ^(AB)forsake me,
O God of my salvation!
^10 [g]For my father and ^(AC)my mother have forsaken me,
But ^(AD)the Lord will take me up.

^11 (AE)Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a ^(AF)level path
Because of ^[h]my foes.
¹² Do not deliver me over to the ^[i](AG)desire of my adversaries,
For ^(AH)false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as ^(AI)breathe out violence.
^13 [j]I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the ^(AJ)goodness of the Lord
In the ^(AK)land of the living.
^14 (AL)Wait for the Lord;
Be ^(AM)strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.

⁶ Blessed be the Lord,
Because He ^(L)has heard the voice of my supplication.
⁷ The Lord is my ^(M)strength and my ^(N)shield;
My heart ^(O)trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore ^(P)my heart exults,
And with ^(Q)my song I shall thank Him.
⁸ The Lord is ^[c]their ^(R)strength,
And He is a ^[d](S)saving defense to His anointed.
^9 (T)Save Your people and bless ^(U)Your inheritance;
Be their ^(V)shepherd also, and ^(W)carry them forever.

³ The ^(C)voice of the Lord is upon the waters;
The God of glory ^(D)thunders,
The Lord is over ^[d](E)many waters.
⁴ The voice of the Lord is ^(F)powerful,
The voice of the Lord is majestic.
⁵ The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces ^(G)the cedars of Lebanon.
⁶ He makes Lebanon ^(H)skip like a calf,
And ^(I)Sirion like a young wild ox.
⁷ The voice of the Lord hews out ^[e]flames of fire.
⁸ The voice of the Lord ^[f]shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the wilderness of ^(J)Kadesh.
⁹ The voice of the Lord makes ^(K)the deer to calve
And strips the forests bare;
And ^(L)in His temple everything says, “Glory!”

¹⁰ The Lord sat as King at the ^(M)flood;
Yes, the Lord sits as ^(N)King forever.
^11 [g]The Lord will give ^(O)strength to His people;
^[h]The Lord will bless His people with ^(P)peace.

⁶ Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will ^(O)never be moved.”
⁷ O Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You ^(P)hid Your face, I was dismayed.
⁸ To You, O Lord, I called,
And to the Lord I made supplication:
⁹ “What profit is there in my blood, if I ^(Q)go down to the pit?
Will the ^(R)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

¹⁰ “^(S)Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me;
O Lord, be my ^(T)helper.”
¹¹ You have turned for me ^(U)my mourning into dancing;
You have ^(V)loosed my sackcloth and girded me with ^(W)gladness,
¹² That my ^[d](X)soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will ^(Y)give thanks to You forever.

⁶ I hate those who ^(M)regard ^[d]vain idols,
But I ^(N)trust in the Lord.
⁷ I will ^(O)rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness,
Because You have ^(P)seen my affliction;
You have known the troubles of my soul,
⁸ And You have not ^(Q)given me over into the hand of the enemy;
You have set my feet in a large place.

⁹ Be gracious to me, O Lord, for ^(R)I am in distress;
My ^(S)eye is wasted away from grief, ^(T)my soul and my body also.
¹⁰ For my life is spent with ^(U)sorrow
And my years with sighing;
My ^(V)strength has failed because of my iniquity,
And ^(W)my ^[e]body has wasted away.
¹¹ Because of all my adversaries, I have become a ^(X)reproach,
Especially to my ^(Y)neighbors,
And an object of dread to my acquaintances;
Those who see me in the street flee from me.
¹² I am ^(Z)forgotten as a dead man, out of mind;
I am like a broken vessel.
¹³ For I have heard the ^[f](AA)slander of many,
^(AB)Terror is on every side;
While they ^(AC)took counsel together against me,
They ^(AD)schemed to take away my life.

¹⁴ But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord,
I say, “^(AE)You are my God.”
¹⁵ My ^(AF)times are in Your hand;
^(AG)Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
¹⁶ Make Your ^(AH)face to shine upon Your servant;
^(AI)Save me in Your lovingkindness.
¹⁷ Let me not be ^(AJ)put to shame, O Lord, for I call upon You;
Let the ^(AK)wicked be put to shame, let them ^(AL)be silent in ^[g]Sheol.
¹⁸ Let the ^(AM)lying lips be mute,
Which ^(AN)speak arrogantly against the righteous
With pride and contempt.

¹⁹ How great is Your ^(AO)goodness,
Which You have stored up for those who fear You,
Which You have wrought for those who ^(AP)take refuge in You,
^(AQ)Before the sons of men!
²⁰ You hide them in the ^(AR)secret place of Your presence from the ^(AS)conspiracies of man;
You keep them secretly in a ^[h]shelter from the ^(AT)strife of tongues.
^21 (AU)Blessed be the Lord,
For He has made ^(AV)marvelous His lovingkindness to me in a besieged ^(AW)city.
²² As for me, ^(AX)I said in my alarm,
“I am ^(AY)cut off from before Your eyes”;
Nevertheless You ^(AZ)heard the voice of my supplications
When I cried to You.

²³ O love the Lord, all you ^(BA)His godly ones!
The Lord ^(BB)preserves the faithful
And fully ^(BC)recompenses the proud doer.
^24 (BD)Be strong and let your heart take courage,
All you who ^[i]hope in the Lord.
