¹² And I saw the dead, the ^(A)great and the small, standing before the throne, and ^[a](B)books were opened; and another ^[b]book was opened, which is ^(C)the book of life; and the dead ^(D)were judged from the things which were written in the ^[c]books, ^(E)according to their deeds. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and ^(F)Death and Hades ^(G)gave up the dead who were in them; and they were judged, each one of them ^(H)according to their deeds.

²³ And I will kill her children with ^[a]plague, and all the churches will know that I am He who ^(A)searches the ^[b]minds and hearts; and ^(B)I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.

³⁶ But I tell you that for every ^[a]careless word that people ^[b]speak, they will give an account of it on the ^(A)day of judgment. ³⁷ For ^[c]by your words you will be justified, and ^[d]by your words you will be condemned.”

²⁷ For the ^(A)Son of Man ^(B)is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and ^(C)will then repay every person according to his ^[a]deeds.

⁵ But ^[a]because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart ^(A)you are storing up wrath for yourself ^(B)on the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, ^6 (C)who will repay each person according to his deeds:
