18 And after these things, I saw another angel come down from Heaven, having great power, so that the earth was lightened with his glory,

²And he cried out mightily with a loud voice, saying, “It is fallen! It is fallen! Babylon, that great city, has become the habitation of demons, and the prison of all foul spirits, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird!

Lament Over Fallen Babylon

18 After this I saw another angel^(A) coming down from heaven.^(B) He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor.^(C) ²With a mighty voice he shouted:

“‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’^[a]^(D)
    She has become a dwelling for demons
and a haunt for every impure spirit,^(E)
    a haunt for every unclean bird,
    a haunt for every unclean and detestable animal.^(F)
