18 and (A)cried out (B)as they saw the smoke of her burning,

(C)“What city was like the great city?”

19 And they threw (D)dust on their heads as they wept and mourned, crying out,

“Alas, alas, for the great city
    (E)where all who had ships at sea
    grew rich by her wealth!
For (F)in a single hour she has been laid waste.
20 (G)Rejoice over her, O heaven,
    and you saints and (H)apostles and prophets,
for (I)God has given judgment for you against her!”

18 When they see the smoke of her burning,(A) they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city(B)?’(C) 19 They will throw dust on their heads,(D) and with weeping and mourning(E) cry out:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,(F)
    where all who had ships on the sea
    became rich through her wealth!
In one hour she has been brought to ruin!’(G)

20 “Rejoice over her, you heavens!(H)
    Rejoice, you people of God!
    Rejoice, apostles and prophets!
For God has judged her
    with the judgment she imposed on you.”(I)
