14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the lamb were written on them.
15 The angel who[a] was talking to me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, its gates, and its walls. 16 The city was cubic in shape: its length was the same as its width. He measured the city with his rod, and it measured at 12,000 stadia:[b]Its length, width, and height were the same.

14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations,(A) and on them were the names of the twelve apostles(B) of the Lamb.
15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod(C) of gold to measure the city, its gates(D) and its walls. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[a] in length, and as wide and high as it is long.
