⁸ And their dead bodies will lie on the street of the ^(A)great city which ^[a]spiritually is called ^(B)Sodom and ^(C)Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

^19 (A)The great city ^[a]was split into three parts, and the cities of the ^[b]nations fell. ^(B)Babylon the great was ^(C)remembered in the sight of God, to give her ^(D)the cup of the wine of ^[c]His fierce wrath.

¹⁶ saying, ‘^(A)Woe, woe, ^(B)the great city, she who ^(C)was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and ^[a]adorned with gold, precious ^[b]stones, and pearls;

¹⁸ and were ^(A)crying out as they ^(B)saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘^(C)What city is like ^(D)the great city?’

¹⁹ And they threw ^(A)dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘^(B)Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea ^(C)became rich from her prosperity, for in ^(D)one hour she has been laid ^(E)waste!’

²¹ Then ^[a]a ^(A)strong angel ^(B)picked up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon, ^(C)the great city, be thrown down with violence, and ^(D)will never be found again.
