⁸ But what does it say? ^(A)“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

¹⁰ if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

The Choice of Life or Death

¹¹ “For this commandment which I command you today ^(A)is ^[a]not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. ^12 (B)It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ ¹³ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ ¹⁴ But the word is very near you, ^(C)in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another ^(A)in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

^23 (A)having been born again, not of ^[a]corruptible seed but ^[b]incorruptible, ^(B)through the word of God which lives and abides ^[c]forever,

^(B)Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

The Eternal Word^(A)

1 In the beginning ^(B)was the Word, and the ^(C)Word was ^(D)with God, and the Word was ^(E)God.

The Word Becomes Flesh

^14 (A)And the Word ^(B)became ^(C)flesh and dwelt among us, and ^(D)we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, ^(E)full of grace and truth.

^13 (A)He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called ^(B)The Word of God. ^14 (C)And the armies in heaven, ^(D)clothed in ^[a]fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. ¹⁵ Now ^(E)out of His mouth goes a ^[b]sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And ^(F)He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. ^(G)He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. ¹⁶ And ^(H)He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:

^(I)KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.
