²⁹ They are filled with all unrighteousness,^[a] evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,^(A)

¹³ Let us walk with decency,^(A) as in the daytime: not in carousing and drunkenness;^(B) not in sexual impurity and promiscuity; not in quarreling and jealousy.

¹¹ For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers and sisters, by members of Chloe’s people, that there is rivalry^(A) among you.

³ because you are still worldly. For since there is envy^(A) and strife^[a](B) among you, are you not worldly and behaving like mere humans?

²⁰ For I fear that perhaps when I come I will not find you to be what I want, and you may not find me to be what you want. Perhaps there will be quarreling,^(A) jealousy,^(B) angry outbursts, selfish ambitions,^(C) slander,^(D) gossip, arrogance, and disorder.^(E)
