14 (C)Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 (D)Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 (E)Live in harmony with one another. (F)Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.[a] (G)Never be wise in your own sight. 17 (H)Repay no one evil for evil, but (I)give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, (J)live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, (K)never avenge yourselves, but leave it[b] to the wrath of God, for it is written, (L)“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, (M)“if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil.(G) Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.(H) 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.(I) 19 Do not take revenge,(J) my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[b](K) says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
