⁴ For ^(A)whatever was written in former days was written for our ^(B)instruction, that through endurance and through ^(C)the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

⁹ For it is written in the Law of Moses, ^(A)“You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain.” Is it for oxen that God is concerned? ¹⁰ Does he not speak entirely for our sake? It was written ^(B)for our sake, because ^(C)the ploughman should plough in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of sharing in the crop.

⁶ Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as ^(A)they did.
