¹⁷ For ^(A)the flesh ^[a]sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, ^(B)so that you may not do the things that you ^[b]please.

Things to Avoid

4 ^[a]What is the source of quarrels and ^(A)conflicts among you? ^[b]Is not the source your pleasures that wage ^(B)war in your members?

^11 (A)Beloved, ^(B)I urge you as ^(C)aliens and strangers to abstain from ^(D)fleshly lusts which wage ^(E)war against the soul.
