Don't you know that all who share in Christ Jesus by being baptized also share in his death? (A) When we were baptized, we died and were buried with Christ. We were baptized, so we would live a new life, as Christ was raised to life by the glory of God the Father.

If we shared in Jesus' death by being baptized, we will be raised to life with him. We know that the persons we used to be were nailed to the cross with Jesus. This was done, so our sinful bodies would no longer be the slaves of sin. We know sin doesn't have power over dead people.

As surely as we died with Christ, we believe we will also live with him. We know that death no longer has any power over Christ. He died and was raised to life, never again to die. 10 When Christ died, he died for sin once and for all. But now he is alive, and he lives only for God. 11 In the same way, you must think of yourselves as dead to the power of sin. But Christ Jesus has given life to you, and you live for God.

Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized(A) into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death(B) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead(C) through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.(D)

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.(E) For we know that our old self(F) was crucified with him(G) so that the body ruled by sin(H) might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin(I) because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.(J)

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.(K) For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead,(L) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.(M) 10 The death he died, he died to sin(N) once for all;(O) but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin(P) but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
