⁴ Therefore, my brothers, you also were put to death^(A) in relation to the law^(B) through the crucified body of the Messiah,^(C) so that you may belong to another—to Him who was raised from the dead—that we may bear fruit for God.

¹⁶ The cup^(A) of blessing^(B) that we give thanks for, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ? The bread^(C) that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ?

²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ,^(A) and individual members of it.

¹⁷ These are a shadow^(A) of what was to come;^(B) the substance is^[a] the Messiah.^(C)
