¹⁶ The Spirit Himself ^(A)testifies with our spirit that we are ^(B)children of God,

⁵ Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who ^(A)gave to us the Spirit as a ^[a]pledge.

¹⁴ who is ^[a](A)given as a pledge of ^(B)our inheritance, with a view to the ^(C)redemption of ^(D)God’s own possession, ^(E)to the praise of His glory.
