2 my heart is broken and I am in great sorrow. 3 I would gladly be placed under God's curse and be separated from Christ for the good of my own people. 4 (A) They are the descendants of Israel, and they are also God's chosen people. God showed them his glory. He made agreements with them and gave them his Law. The temple is theirs and so are the promises that God made to them.

2 I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself(A) were cursed(B) and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people,(C) those of my own race,(D) 4 the people of Israel.(E) Theirs is the adoption to sonship;(F) theirs the divine glory,(G) the covenants,(H) the receiving of the law,(I) the temple worship(J) and the promises.(K)
