Romans 9:20-22
Contemporary English Version
20 (A) But, my friend, I ask, “Who do you think you are to question God? Does the clay have the right to ask the potter why he shaped it the way he did? 21 (B) Doesn't a potter have the right to make a fancy bowl and a plain bowl out of the same lump of clay?”
22 (C) God wanted to show his anger and reveal his power against everyone who deserved to be destroyed. But instead, he patiently put up with them.

New International Version
20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?(A) “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,(B) ‘Why did you make me like this?’”[a](C) 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?(D)
22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience(E) the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction?(F)
