Romans 9:29-31
New American Standard Bible
29 And just as Isaiah foretold:
“(A)If (B)the Lord [a]of armies had not left us [b](C)descendants,
(D)We would have become like Sodom, and would have [c]been like Gomorrah.”
30 (E)What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but (F)the righteousness that is [d]by faith; 31 however, Israel, (G)pursuing a law of righteousness, did not (H)arrive at that law.

29 It is just as Isaiah said previously:
“Unless the Lord Almighty(A)
had left us descendants,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah.”[a](B)

30 What then shall we say?(C) That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith;(D) 31 but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness,(E) have not attained their goal.(F)
