Justification by Faith

²¹ But now apart ^[a]from the Law ^(A)the righteousness of God has been revealed, being ^(B)witnessed by the ^[b]Law and the Prophets, ²² but it is the ^(C)righteousness of God through ^(D)faith ^(E)in Jesus Christ for ^(F)all those ^[c]who believe; for ^(G)there is no distinction, ²³ for all ^[d](H)have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified as a gift ^(I)by His grace through ^(J)the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, ²⁵ whom God displayed publicly as ^(K)a ^[e]propitiation ^[f](L)in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, ^[g]because in God’s merciful ^(M)restraint He ^(N)let the sins previously committed go unpunished; ²⁶ for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who ^[h]has faith in Jesus.

¹⁷ For if by the offense of the one, death reigned ^(A)through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness ^(B)reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

¹⁸ So then, as through ^(C)one offense ^[a]the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one ^(D)act of righteousness ^[b]the result was ^(E)justification of life to all mankind. ¹⁹ For as through the one man’s disobedience ^(F)the many ^(G)were made sinners, so also through ^(H)the obedience of the One ^(I)the many will be made righteous. ^20 [c](J)The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, ^(K)grace abounded all the more, ²¹ so that, as ^(L)sin reigned in death, so also ^(M)grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

⁹ and may be found in Him, not having ^(A)a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, ^(B)the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
