²³ Now ^(A)not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him, ²⁴ but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, to us ^(B)who believe in Him who ^(C)raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, ²⁵ He who was ^(D)delivered over because of our wrongdoings, and was ^(E)raised because of our justification.

⁴ For ^(A)whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

²⁰ But ^(A)know this first of all, that ^(B)no prophecy of Scripture ^[a]becomes a matter of ^[b]someone’s own interpretation, ²¹ for ^(C)no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men ^(D)moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
