The Just Live by Faith

16 For (A)I am not ashamed of the gospel [a]of Christ, for (B)it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, (C)for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For (D)in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, (E)“The just shall live by faith.”

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

18 (F)For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and (G)unrighteousness of men, who [b]suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because (H)what may be known of God is [c]manifest [d]in them, for (I)God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world (J)His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and [e]Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but (K)became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 (L)Professing to be wise, they became fools,

Woe to the Impenitent Cities(A)

20 (B)Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: 21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago (C)in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I say to you, (D)it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, (E)who[a] are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I say to you (F)that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”
