8 Trustworthy is the saying, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have put their trust in God may be careful to devote themselves to good deeds. These things are good and beneficial for people.
9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about Torah, for they are unprofitable and useless. 10 Dismiss a quarrelsome person after a first and second warning,

New International Version
8 This is a trustworthy saying.(A) And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good.(B) These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
9 But avoid(C) foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels(D) about the law,(E) because these are unprofitable and useless.(F) 10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.(G)
