Wisdom of Ben Sira 4:4-6

New Catholic Bible

⁴ Do not neglect a suppliant in distress,
    or turn your face away from the poor.
⁵ Do not avert your eyes from the needy,
    and give no one any reason to curse you.
⁶ For if in bitterness of soul someone should curse you,
    the one who made him will hear his prayer.
