    She surrenders, her towers fall,
    her walls(B) are torn down.
Since this is the vengeance(C) of the Lord,
    take vengeance on her;
    do to her(D) as she has done to others.(E)
16 Cut off from Babylon the sower,
    and the reaper with his sickle at harvest.
Because of the sword(F) of the oppressor
    let everyone return to their own people,(G)
    let everyone flee to their own land.(H)

17 “Israel is a scattered flock(I)
    that lions(J) have chased away.
The first to devour(K) them
    was the king(L) of Assyria;
the last to crush their bones(M)
    was Nebuchadnezzar(N) king(O) of Babylon.”
