2 (A)Awo Yoswa mutabani wa Nuuni n’atuma abasajja babiri okuva e Sittimu bagende mu kyama bakette, n’abagamba nti, “Mugende mwekkaanye ensi eyo na ddala ekibuga Yeriko[a].” Bwe batyo ne bagenda. Bwe baatuukayo ne bayingira mu nnyumba y’omukazi malaaya ayitibwa Lakabu ne basula omwo.

9 (A)n’abagamba nti, “Nkimanyi nga Mukama abawadde ensi eno era nga ffenna tubatidde nnyo, tuweddemu n’omwoyo. 10 (B)Twawulira Mukama bwe yakaliza ennyanja emyufu nga muva e Misiri era twawulira bwe mwazikiriza Sikoni ne Ogi bakabaka b’Abamoli emitala w’omugga Yoludaani. 11 (C)Amangwago nga twakakiwulira emitima gyatutyemuka, era teri n’omu ku ffe yasigalamu ndasi, kubanga Mukama Katonda wammwe ye Katonda w’omu ggulu ne mu nsi.” 12 (D)N’abagamba nti, “Nga nange bwe mbakoledde ebyekisa, mbasaba nammwe munkolere bwe mutyo nga mulayira mu linnya lya Mukama era mumpe n’obukakafu 13 nga mulitutaliza; nze, ne kitange, ne mmange, ne baganda bange, ne bannyinaze awamu n’abo bonna be babeera nabo.” 14 (E)Abasajja abo ne baddamu nti, “Bw’otolituloopa, naffe tulibawonya Mukama ng’atuwadde ensi eno; era Mukama atuzikirize bwe tutalikola bwe tutyo.”

New International Version
9 and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear(A) of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. 10 We have heard how the Lord dried up(B) the water of the Red Sea[a] for you when you came out of Egypt,(C) and what you did to Sihon and Og,(D) the two kings of the Amorites(E) east of the Jordan,(F) whom you completely destroyed.[b](G) 11 When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear(H) and everyone’s courage failed(I) because of you,(J) for the Lord your God(K) is God in heaven above and on the earth(L) below.
12 “Now then, please swear to me(M) by the Lord that you will show kindness(N) to my family, because I have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign(O) 13 that you will spare the lives of my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them(P)—and that you will save us from death.”
14 “Our lives for your lives!”(Q) the men assured her. “If you don’t tell what we are doing, we will treat you kindly and faithfully(R) when the Lord gives us the land.”

9 And she said unto the men, I know that the Lord hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
10 For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.
11 And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.
12 Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by the Lord, since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true token:
13 And that ye will save alive my father, and my mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.
14 And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the Lord hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
