³ Now Joshua was wearing filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. ⁴ The angel^[a] said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.” And to him he said, “See, I have taken your guilt away from you, and I will clothe you with festal apparel.”^{(A) 5} And he said,^[b] “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with apparel, and the angel of the Lord was standing by.^(B)

²¹ For at that time there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.^(A)

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit^[a] offered himself without blemish to God, purify our^[b] conscience from dead works to worship the living God!^(A)

⁷ but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.^(A)
