Zephaniah 1:8-10

8 “Then it will come about on the day of the Lord’s sacrifice
That I will (A)punish the princes, the king’s sons,
And all who clothe themselves with (B)foreign garments.
9 And on that day I will punish all who leap on the temple threshold,
Who fill the house of their [a]lord with (C)violence and deceit.
10 And on that day,” declares the Lord,
“There will be the sound of a cry from the (D)Fish Gate,
Wailing from the [b](E)Second Quarter,
And a loud crash from the (F)hills.

New International Version

8 “On the day of the Lord’s sacrifice
    I will punish(A) the officials
    and the king’s sons(B)
and all those clad
    in foreign clothes.
9 On that day I will punish
    all who avoid stepping on the threshold,[a](C)
who fill the temple of their gods
    with violence and deceit.(D)

10 “On that day,(E)”
    declares the Lord,
“a cry will go up from the Fish Gate,(F)
    wailing(G) from the New Quarter,
    and a loud crash from the hills.
