Zephaniah 2:2-4
World English Bible

2 before the appointed time when the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Yahweh comes on you, before the day of Yahweh’s anger comes on you. 3 Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh’s anger. 4 For Gaza will be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation. They will drive out Ashdod at noonday, and Ekron will be rooted up.

New International Version

2 before the decree takes effect
    and that day passes like windblown chaff,(A)
before the Lord’s fierce anger(B)
    comes upon you,
before the day of the Lord’s wrath(C)
    comes upon you.
3 Seek(D) the Lord, all you humble of the land,
    you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness,(E) seek humility;(F)
    perhaps you will be sheltered(G)
    on the day of the Lord’s anger.

Philistia

4 Gaza(H) will be abandoned
    and Ashkelon(I) left in ruins.
At midday Ashdod will be emptied
    and Ekron uprooted.
