¹⁴ To the Lord your God belong the heavens,^(A) even the highest heavens,^(B) the earth and everything in it.^{(C) 15} Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved^(D) them, and he chose you,^(E) their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today.^{(F) 16} Circumcise^(G) your hearts,^(H) therefore, and do not be stiff-necked^(I) any longer. ¹⁷ For the Lord your God is God of gods^(J) and Lord of lords,^(K) the great God, mighty and awesome,^(L) who shows no partiality^(M) and accepts no bribes.^{(N) 18} He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow,^(O) and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.^{(P) 19} And you are to love^(Q) those who are foreigners,^(R) for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.^{(S) 20} Fear the Lord your God and serve him.^(T) Hold fast^(U) to him and take your oaths in his name.^{(V) 21} He is the one you praise;^(W) he is your God, who performed for you those great^(X) and awesome wonders^(Y) you saw with your own eyes.
