⁴Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?”

New International Version

⁴“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

⁶⁰^(A)When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?”

⁶⁰On hearing it, many of his disciples^(A) said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”^(B)
