Take Up the Cross and Follow Him^(A)

^23 (B)Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross ^[a]daily, and follow Me. ^24 (C)For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

^38 (A)And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. ^39 (B)He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

Take Up the Cross and Follow Him^(A)

³⁴ When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, ^(B)“Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. ³⁵ For ^(C)whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.

²⁷ And ^(A)whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.

³³ So likewise, whoever of you ^(A)does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
