¹⁷ Brothers and sisters, ^(A)join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the ^(B)pattern you have in us. ¹⁸ For ^(C)many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even as I ^(D)weep, that they are the enemies of ^(E)the cross of Christ, ¹⁹ whose end is destruction, whose god is their ^[a](F)appetite, and whose ^(G)glory is in their shame, who ^(H)have their minds on earthly things.

²³ And He was saying to them all, “^(A)If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

³⁸ And ^(A)the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

³⁴ And He summoned the crowd together with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, ^(A)take up his cross, and follow Me.

²⁷ Whoever does not ^(A)carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
